Introducing the Alafiá Mundo Event Series
The next event is April 14! Many of us won't be visiting South America any time soon. Here's a way to remain connected to Black people on the continent

Alafiá Mundo is an event series founded by Jana Guinond, Zakiya Carr Johnson and Dr. Helena Theodoro and it seeks to raise awareness and support for Afro-Brazilian artists in Samba, especially in these times when we are facing distance, health and economic insecurity due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Their first season of digital events featured Martinho da Vila, Vovô of Ilê Aiyê and several Samba masters!
Last month I partnered with Alafiá Mundo to create and promote a second season events that build a bridge of understanding across the African Diaspora.
